The name
Where “Alaya” comes from
Ālaya is Sanskrit for abode, or dwelling. It’s the second half of Himalaya — hima, snow, plus ālaya, abode: the abode of snow. The name literally means home, which felt like the right thing to call a business that spends its days taking care of other people’s.
She is licensed and insured in Florida, brings her own supplies and equipment unless you’d rather she used yours, and publishes her starting rates so you can see what things cost before anyone comes out. There are no contracts — you can cancel or move a visit with 24 hours notice at no charge.
